Director Siddharth Anand has announced the fourth installment of ‘Dhoom’ series. Promising a big update about the film later today, the filmmaker posted, “#Dhoom4 Update Evening 7.00 PM Stay Tuned…!!!” From the initial posted shared, it looks like Vijay Krishna Acharya will return to helm the fourth part, which he is also writing. Aditya Chopra will produce action entertainer under the YRF banner.

Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, ‘Dhoom’ featured ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan), an Assistant Commissioner of Police and his sidekick Ali Akbar Fateh Khan (Uday Chopra) hunting down the villains. John Abraham plays the negative lead in the first part, which released in 2004. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were the antagonists in ‘Dhoom 2’ (2006), while Aamir Khan played the baddie in ‘Dhoom 3’ (2013). It is after a decade that the fourth part has been announced.

Speaking about this ambitious action franchise, Adtiya Chopra had said on ‘The Romantics’, “There were three pillars of Hindi films like everybody used to say and that you can’t do without, which is drama, emotion and romance. I said I am going to remove these three pillars and see what happens! With Dhoom, I wanted to make a film where I wanted to combine Manmohan Desai and Michael Bay. In Dhoom, I spent more money on bikes than on Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra.”
