While Ranveer and Alia won praise for their dance moves, it was another actor who stole all the attention in the music video. Twitterati could not get enough of veteran actress Jaya Bachchan and her angry expressions in the dance number.
“Can we just discuss how effortlessly Jaya Bachchan steals every frame that she’s in?” A Twitter user asked.
Another said, “love the choreography so much, as well as the music but jaya bachchan hands down stole show with her angry & dramatic eyes.”
Some other fans were convinced, “Jaya Bachchan is being her own self throughout this whole song.”
This dance number Dhindhora Baje Re is sung by Darshan Raval and Bhoomi Trivedi with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. This is the film’s fourth track after ‘Tum Kya Mile’, ‘What Jhumka’ and ‘Ve Kamleya’.
Helmed by Karan Johar, the film stars Ranveer, Alia, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles and is set to hit the theatres on July 28.
A week before the film’s release, KJo announced that advance bookings for the film were open. “With butterflies in my stomach and love overflowing for you all – I’m gearing up for a piece of my heart to enthral you on the big screen! BOOK YOUR TICKETS NOW! #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani – in cinemas this Friday. (sic)” the filmmaker posted on Instagram.
The film will have a solo release but may have to face some competition against the Hollywood releases ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ that were released in theatres last weekend.
