Dharmendra is a traditional father when it comes to daughters Esha and Ahana, revealed Hema Malini in a throwback interview | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Anecdotes and stories of our evergreen stars like Dharmendra and Hema Malini are always welcome. In an interview with Simi Garewal for her popular show, Rendezvous, Hema Malini had once discussed how traditional Dharmendra was at heart, despite being a huge star in Bollywood.
Elaborating, Hema said that her husband was very protective and always voted for traditional Indian clothes rather than western outfits. That applied to Hema Malini surely, for one always sees her in traditional and elegant sarees. It seems that the unwritten code also applied to the couple’s daughters, Esha and Ahana.
Hema revealed during the interview that the superstar father would prefer to see his daughters don a salwar-kameez when he was with them. So, whenever the girls came to know that Dad was going to be home, they would shed their jeans and shorts and wear ethnic wear.
Hema clarified that it wasn’t as if he had anything against western clothes like jeans and skirts. It is just that he was very traditional and liked to see his girls in a salwar-kameez.
The girls were present at the interview too and joined in with more details. For instance, when Esha decided to act in films, she had to seek Dad Dharmendra’s consent. Everyone knew that Dharmendra would much rather see his daughters at home, not in films. But as the saying goes, one has to change with the times, and that’s exactly what Dharmendra had to do.
