DGA Awards 2023: Check full list of nominations for the 75th annual ceremony

The Director Guild of America (DGA) has announced the list of nominees in the categories of theatrical feature film and first-time director.

The list reveals six male director nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Theatrical Feature Film include Joseph Kosinski for Top Gun: Maverick, Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan for Everything Everywhere All at Once, Martin McDonagh for The Banshees of Inisherin, Steven Spielberg for The Fabelmans and Todd Field for Tár.

There are many notable directors who didn’t make it to the DGA Awards nominations list such as James Cameron for Avatar: The Way of Water or Avatar 2, Gina Prince for The Woman King, Baz Luhrmann for Elvis and Sarah Polley for Women Talking.

Seasoned filmmaker James Cameron bagged an award in 1998 for Titanic. Later, he was nominated for the second time for Avatar (2009).

In the first-time director category, female directors performed far better, earning four out of the five nominations: Alice Diop for Saint Omer, Audrey Diwan for Happening, Antoneta Alamat Kusijanovic for Murina and Charlotte Wells for Aftersun.

The 75th Annual DGA Awards is set to take place at Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles on February 18. Winners will be announced during the same event.
