Delhi Metro renames HUDA City Centre station
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will rename the HUDA City Centre metro station on the Yellow Line as ‘Gurugram City Centre’, said officials on Monday, adding that it falls in Haryana’s Gurugram.
In a tweet, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said, “A decision has been taken to rename the HUDA City Centre Metro station on Yellow Line as Gurugram City Centre. Accordingly, the process of changing the name in all official documents, signage, announcements etc. has been initiated and shall be changed gradually.”
Sources told the news agency PTI that said a request to rename the station had come from both the Centre and the Haryana government.
Last year, the Public Investment Board cleared the 28.5-km-long metro corridor between HUDA City Centre and Cyber City in Gurugram.
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal applauded the efforts made by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation team for getting the project cleared from the Board.
He said it would give an efficient and environment-friendly transport system to the public of Haryana especially those living in Gurugram and its vicinity.
This will give seamless connectivity from Gurugram to Indira Gandhi International Airport.
