Delhi CM targets PM Modi over his degree; Arvind Kejriwal hope of 140 crore Indians, says House resolution

A day after he was questioned for over nine hours by CBI, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the prime minister and the BJP government at the Centre over demonetisation, revoking of agriculture legislations and targeting of Opposition leaders.

Speaking at a day-long special session of the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal recounted the tale of “chauthi paas raja” (a king who has passed only Class 4) drawing major references from PM Modi’s life. Kejriwal said the king along with his friends looted the country. “Banks of the country were looted first. The country saw unprecedented inflation. Troubled by the inflation, the people raised their voice and the king said anyone who speaks against him will be thrown in jail. The king started imprisoning everyone,” said Kejriwal. He said, “The king left school after Class 4. But this did not deter him from getting a fake MA degree. When information was sought under RTI Act about the degree, he imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on the people.”

The assembly resolution accused the PM of using all his might to crush the “youngest political party, Aam Aadmi Party…”

Terming Kejriwal as the “hope of 140 crore Indians”, it said, “This House observes that people across India are joining Shri Arvind Kejriwal and becoming a part of this silent resolution to Make India No. 1.”
