Daniel Levy is ‘furious that Thomas Tuchel spoke to Harry Kane’ behind his back and has vowed to ‘really let Bayern Munich bleed’ as they chase Tottenham striker

  • Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is furious at the pair talking behind his back
  • He is primed to reject a second offer from Bayern Munich worth £85m for Kane

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has infuriated Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy after holding secret talks with Harry Kane at the striker’s home in London, according to reports.

The Spurs superstar, who only has a year left on his deal in north London, reportedly told Tuchel he would like to team up with the Bundesliga champions and fight for trophies in Bavaria next season, after the pair met for secret talks in May.

It is understood these discussions have angered Levy, as he has already snubbed one bid from Bayern Munich worth £60million this summer in the hope of fending off their interest in Kane ahead of next season.

Kane has also been linked with summer moves to Manchester United and Real Madrid since the end of last campaign, although Bayern are believed to be leading the race for the 29-year-old’s signature, with the Red Devils now exploring other options in attack.

The German giants have yet to replace the quality of former star forward Robert Lewandowski, who left the Allianz Arena for Barcelona last summer, and have identified Kane as the ideal successor under Tuchel.

According to German outlet Bild, Levy is keen to make the Bundesliga giants ‘bleed’ and is primed to reject an offer of £85m for the England captain.

The Spurs chief, who is known for being a shrewd and ruthless negotiator in terms of selling players at Tottenham, was furious to hear of Kane’s secret talks with Tuchel and is ready to make Bayern Munich pay through the nose for his striker.

The newspaper claims Levy has informed his friends of how livid he is with the club, angry at the fact they have spoken to Kane behind his back for a long period of time.

During their talks, Tuchel tempted Kane with the prospect of winning the Champions League – a tournament Tottenham failed to qualify for ahead of next season – and vowed he would play a huge role in Bayern’s pursuit of the trophy.

It is believed the German club will have to pay north of £85m – at the very least – to prize Kane away from London ahead of next season.

The Spurs hitman took his Premier League tally to 213 goals last season, edging closer to Alan Shearer’s all-time record of 260 in the division.

A move to the Bundesliga will force Kane to put the dream of matching Shearer on hold, at least temporarily, but his focus seems to be firmly on winning trophies as he heads into his thirties.

Kane has yet to win a single trophy during his time at Tottenham, despite reaching the Champions League final in 2019 under former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
