Dana White: ‘Not even shocking anymore’
UFC boss Dana White weighed in on a troubling matter before Aussie star Alex Volkanovski steps into the Octagon this afternoon.
Aussie Alex Volkanovski will step into the Octagon to defend his featherweight title at UFC 266 today as he faces off against Brian Ortega.
Volkanovski labelled Ortega a “drug cheat” at their pre-fight press conference but the trash talk will mean nothing when the pair start throwing down in Las Vegas.
Watch UFC 266: Volkanovski vs Ortega live on Main Event, available on Foxtel and Kayo on Sunday 26th September at 12pm AEST. ORDER NOW >
The prelims will kick off at 10am AEST before the main card gets underway at 12pm. The headline fight should take place between 2-3pm — though it’s always a bit of a guessing game with these things, depending on how long the previous fights last.

Dana White: ‘It’s not even shocking anymore’
The MMA world received some bad news before UFC 266 as former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested. He faces a domestic violence charge as well as a charge of injuring or tampering with a vehicle.
UFC boss Dana White says he’s not surprised anymore to hear of Jones’ troubles given how often he’s created headlines for the wrong reasons.
“It’s hard to bring this guy to Las Vegas for any reason. This city is not good for Jon Jones, and here we are again,” White said.
“It’s like … it’s not even shocking anymore. When we bring him here it’s almost expected. You can’t even get him in Las Vegas for less than 12 hours to induct him into the Hall of Fame. It’s a problem. This guy’s got a lot of demons, man. A lot of demons.
“Is it really shocking anymore? It’s really not. It’s become not shocking. It’s almost like, ‘Uh oh, this guy is in Vegas, what’s gonna happen today?’ You want to hope that the guy is better and that won’t be the case, but he proves that every time he comes to this town that he can’t handle this place.”
