Damar Hamlin ‘continuing to see doctors and has received good news about potential return to field’

Damar Hamlin ‘is continuing to see specialists and has received good news about his potential return to the field after January cardiac arrest’… as Bills GM insists ‘I know he wants to play’

Bills safety Damar Hamlin continues to see specialists following his January cardiac arrest on the field, with Buffalo GM Brandon Beane saying he’s received good news to this point.

Hamlin frighteningly collapsed on January 2 vs. the Bengals, and narrowly avoided death as he was administered CPR and AED (automated external defibrillation) on the field as he was rushed off in an ambulance.

The 24-year-old has continued his recovery after spending nine days in the hospital, and the safety is now eyeing a potential return to the field.

However, there are more steps to complete for that to happen.

Beane said that Hamlin has ‘two or three more’ specialists to see, while noting both parties need more medical information to make an informed decision.

‘It’s a decision for Damar but also for us,’ he told reporters from the NFL combine.

The Bills safety told Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan that his goal is to return following the harrowing ordeal.

Strahan asked Hamlin if he remembers standing after his hit on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins immediately before his collapse.

Hamlin, however, did not want to delve into that subject.

‘That’s something I don’t really want to get too deep into the details of,’ he said.

Hamlin was recognized on stage at the NFL Honors earlier this month and later received a warm welcome from the Super Bowl crowd at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Prior to his cardiac arrest, Hamlin was a significant player for the Bills.

He had started 13 of 15 contests in 2022, with 91 combined tackles.
