Dale Steyn, Jasprit Bumrah, fans laud Kartik Tyagi for a superb last over as he scripted miraculous win for RR
It was a star-making night for Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Kartik Tyagi, who after going for 28 runs off three overs without taking any wickets, got the responsibility to bowl the last over for his side when Punjab Kings needed just four runs to win and gave away just one run and picked up two wickets as it was a heist for the ages.
A richly deserved Man of the Match award for young Kartik Tyagi

It wasn’t even a collapse, it wasn’t like Punjab Kings needed 25 runs off the last two overs but still, somehow, the Kings managed to lose the game. PBKS were cruising the game in the second half for the majority of it, like 18 overs of it as they required runs off the last two overs. But, it came down to the last over, it came down to the last ball and the Royals pulled one out of the hat.
Openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal stitched an outstanding 120-run stand off just 71 balls and even though the Kings lost both of them in quick succession they were on course for a victory with some balls to spare as Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram kept the momentum going with a boundary here, a six there.
They needed eight runs off the last two overs and Mustafizur Rahman bowled a fantastic 19th over giving away just four runs and Tyagi had four to defend.
With two set batters, PBKS would have fancied their chances but Kartik Tyagi had other ideas as he started to nail the yorkers, left, right and centre.
0, 1, W, 0, W, 0 – that was the final over and Tyagi had made a name for himself with one of the best last over ever bowled in the IPL.
Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn lauded Tyagi’s efforts and Team India and Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah too commended the 20-year old’s composure in a pressure situation.
Close to the best last over (defending) ever! Wowza

What an over, #KartikTyagi! To maintain a cool head under that kind of pressure and to get the job done, great stuff, very impressive! #PBKSvRR #IPL2021

While fans couldn’t believe what they witnessed from the Punjab Kings side, who have made an unfortunate habit of losing a game which they have in the bag for the most part of the game and also applauded Kartik Tyagi’s efforts.
Here are some of the reactions:
I don’t want to overreact but at the same time PBKS should be dissolved and liquidated.

Only the second time a bowler defended less than six runs in the final over of an IPL game.
4 runs by Munaf Patel for RR vs MI, 2009 4 runs by Kartik Tyagi for RR vs PBKS, Today#IPL2021 #PBKSvRR
