Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks claims Taylor Walker is ‘a BETTER person’ after returning from six-game ban for racial slur…and insists Crows are STILL in the fight for the finals
With the firepower of controversial forward Taylor Walker, coach Matthew Nicks says Adelaide are back in the AFL fight.
Walker’s five-goal haul against Richmond propelled the Crows to a 19-point win on Saturday.
The spearhead booted four goals last week in his comeback from a six-game ban for a racist slur.

After his comeback, Nicks noted: ‘I know he’s a better person.’
After Saturday’s victory, Nicks knows the Crows are obviously better for having Walker back.
‘He is that pumped for our group,’ Nicks said.
‘You see what he does individually for that group, he hits the scoreboard as he does, his experience.

‘But he has got a big grin on his face because he’s enjoying being amongst a win.
‘He has given us that presence ahead of the ball.

‘It’s now locking that in and doing that consistently.’
And insists the Crows are in the hunt for the finals, despite losing three of their first five games
The Crows have two wins from five games this year, their defeats include by one point to Fremantle and four points to Essendon.
‘You are gutted and devastated when you have a loss that is close and we have done that throughout the year,’ Nicks said.
‘But we have learnt so much in those weeks.
‘Where are we at? I know we’re in the fight.’
