Cristiano Ronaldo fends off questions on his Manchester United exit in press conference
‘That chapter is closed’: Cristiano Ronaldo fends off questions on his Manchester United exit in press conference that lasts just 132 SECONDS following Portugal’s 3-2 win over Ghana… after he became first player ever to score in five World Cups
Cristiano Ronaldo refused to talk about his departure from Manchester United during his post-match press conference on Thursday evening and insisted he was ‘done’ with speaking about the Red Devils as his ‘chapter at Old Trafford ‘is closed’.
Ronaldo, who parted ways with United earlier this week after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, avoided questions about the Premier League giants during his post-match press conference following Portugal’s 3-2 win against Ghana at the World Cup.
There had been suggestions that the 37-year-old might not turn up to the press conference but he was obliged to attend due to being the man of the match.

Ronaldo said: ‘This chapter is closed after this week. It is done. The rest it doesn’t matter.’
It was a very short press conference from Ronaldo which lasted just two minutes and twelve seconds.
Ronaldo opened the scoring with a penalty against Ghana, which means he has become the first player to score at five World Cups.

Despite his struggles with United, Ronaldo remains a key player for Portugal and he is currently focused on the national team so will not turn his attention to his club future until after the World Cup.
The end of Ronaldo’s second spell at United was officially confirmed on Tuesday.
It came after an interview with Piers Morgan in which Ronaldo criticised United, Erik ten Hag and the club’s owners the Glazers.
During the interview Ronaldo said that he doesn’t have any respect for United boss ten Hag.
He said: ‘I have no respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me.
Ronaldo’s departure from United, following his explosive interview, was confirmed this week
‘Some people, they don’t want me here – not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.
‘Honestly, I shouldn’t say that. But listen, I don’t care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.’
Ronaldo also stated that upon his return to the club in 2021, he didn’t see any progress at United since his departure in 2009.
He said: ‘Since Sir Alex Ferguson left I saw no evolution in the club, the progress was zero.
‘Nothing changed. Not only the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym. They stopped in time, which surprised me a lot.
‘I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. But you have some things inside [the club] that don’t help reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal.’
