In Cricket, Australia defeated India by four wickets in the first T20 International of 3-match-series at PCA Stadium in Mohali last night. Chasing a target of 209 runs, Australia made 211 runs for the loss of six wickets in the 19.2 overs.
For Australia, Cameron Green with 61 was the top scorer while Matthew Wade also made quick 45 runs in 21 balls. Cameron Green was declared Player of the Match. For India, Axar Patel scalped three wickets and Umesh Yadav took two wickets.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, India made 208 for six in the stipulated 20 overs.
For hosts, all-rounder Hardik Pandya who is in sublime form scored a quickfire 71, KL Rahul made 55 while Suryakumar Yadav contributed 46. For Australia, Nathan Ellis claimed 3 wickets and Hazlewood took two wickets.
India will take Australia in the second T20 International at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Friday. India is now trailing 0-1 in the three match T20I series.
