Cops sense foul play in Jharkhand actress Riya Kumari aka Isha Alaya’s murder – Times of India

Riya Kumari who is an actress from Jharkand was shot dead on Wednesday night. Riya is a regional actor who has acted in Jharkhand’s regional languages like Khortha. She appeared in several albums with the name of Isha Alya. She was married to Prakash Kumar who is a film and album producer.

Riya was shot dead at point-black range by unknown miscreants on the national highway in Howrah district of West Bengal. But state police officers feel something is fishy because of Riya’s husband Prakash Kumar’s statements. Riya was also along with her three-year old daughter and husband. As per a report in IANS, sources that that as per Prakash Kumar’s statement the murder took place at around 6 a.m. on Wednesday while they were travelling to Kolkata from Ranchi and when he had stopped his vehicle near the Mahishrekha bridge at Bagnan under Uluberia sub- division of Howrah district to answer to nature’s call.

As per his version, after he stopped his vehicle three miscreants attacked them with firearms with snatching intention and on being resisted one miscreant shot at Riya Kumari from point- blank range, which ultimately became the cause of her death.
The investigating officers have many questions on this, firstly – they wondered how the miscreants got to know that Kumar will stop the vehicle. Secondly, how come Jha had no clue that they were being followed. Also, the place where Prakash stopped the car was not a parking place.

Hence, officers smell a foul play in this. Further, a state official has said that the investigating officers are trying to find if CCTV’s were installed.
