Conor McGregor has mocked rival Kamaru Usman after his shock defeat to Leon Edwards at UFC 278. 

Usman was knocked by a resurgent Edwards in Salt Lake City as the Brit claimed the welterweight title with a stunning performance. 

Writing on social media after the bout, McGregor mocked Usman for his defeat and said that the Nigerian-American fighter ‘leaned into his own death’.

Meanwhile, Edwards said after the fight that he was doubted by all but that he hae emerged from the ‘trenches’ and was built for situations such as that in Salt Lake City on Saturday night.
