Commanders’ Chase Young ‘is off the injury report and a full go for Saturday’ after 2021 ACL tear
Commanders edge rusher Chase Young ‘is off the injury report and a full go for Saturday’ after the former second overall pick spent over 13 MONTHS recovering from a torn ACL and torn patellar tendon
After a severe knee injury in the 2021 season, former second overall pick Chase Young is off the injured list and available to play this weekend.
According to Commanders coach Ron Rivera (via Adam Schefter), Young is a ‘full go’ for Saturday’s matchup against San Francisco.
The 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year has spent the better part of 13 months recovering from a torn ACL.
Washington Commanders DE Chase Young is set to return to the field for this Saturday’s game
Young has been out since Week 10 of the 2021 season, suffering a torn ACL against Tampa Bay
Young went down with an injury last year in a game between Washington and Tampa Bay during Week 10.
Further scans on Young’s knee revealed a torn ACL in his right knee and required a graft from his left knee’s patellar tendon.
Young has not appeared in a game since that incident and was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the beginning of training camp.
The team placed Young on the physically unable to perform list at the start of the 2022 season
Young had a stellar rookie season, grabbing 30 solo tackles and 42 combined tackles in 15 games played.
He also manages 7.5 sacks that season, good for second most on the team and in the top-30 in the NFL
As a result, he was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year for 2020 by the Associated Press and earned a Pro Bowl appearance.
