The games are coming up on New Year’s Eve:
College Football Playoff schedule, dates, start times, TV channel, stadium
- Peach Bowl: (3) TCU vs. (2) Michigan | 4:00 p.m. ET | Saturday, Dec. 31 | ESPN
- Fiesta Bowl: (4) Ohio State vs. (1) Georgia | 8:00 p.m. ET | Saturday, Dec. 31 | ESPN
Georgia made it through the season unscathed. They started the campaign with an emphatic victory over Georgia. Then they rolled through the SEC with victories over Tennesseee and LSU to take the title.
Ohio State just barely made it in. After losing to Michigan in the regular season finale, they missed out on the Big Ten title game for the second year in a row. USC’s loss to Utah in the Pac-12 championship opened the door for them to get into the College Football Playoff.
Michigan also made it through undefeated. Their win over Ohio State put them in the Big Ten Championship Game where they bested Purdue to punch a ticket to the CFP. Jim Harbaugh and company have been there before. The next test is to win it all.
TCU is the unexpected entrant to this year’s field. The Horned Frogs have thrived under new head coach Sonny Dykes. They won 11 games en route to the Big 12 Championship, but there they lost to Kansas State by a field goal in overtime. Their journey didn’t end their as the strength of their season prior to that point got them in.
