CM Mamata Banerjee’s ‘extra motivation’ for workout is a puppy | Watch
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has revealed the ‘secret sauce’ of her ‘extra motivation’. Posting a short video where the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo is seen inside her house walking on a treadmill holding a small puppy looking back at her albeit inconspicuously.
The small, brown, fluffy puppy was CM Banerjee’s ‘extra motivation’ to work out. While comments have been turned off, the video has been liked by over 15,000 people.
Draped in her signature white saree, CM Banerjee holds the brown puppy in front of her. As she walks, Banerjee looks down at her small “motivator”.
“Somedays you need some extra motivation!”, CM Banerjee captioned her short video on Instagram.

Mamata Banerjee has always been an advocate for exercise, and in 2019 even set out on a 10-kilometre long jog in Darjeeling to create awareness about conservation.
The 68-year-old politician, on Monday ordered an immediate ban on the screening of the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’ in the state to avoid “any incident of hatred and violence”, a senior state government official said.
“To avoid any incident of hatred and violence and to maintain peace in the state, the CM has directed an immediate ban on screening of ‘The Kerala Story’. Action will be taken against any cinema hall that violates the ban,” the West Bengal government official told news agency PTI.
Ahead of the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee appealed to people not to vote for the ruling BJP in the state.
“My only appeal to brothers and sisters in Karnataka is that please vote for stability and development. I appeal that please do not vote for BJP. They are dangerous,” Mamata said.
Notably, Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress and BJP are at loggerheads with the latter making inroads in West Bengal.
The 224-seat Karnataka assembly will go to polls on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13. The majority mark to form the government is 113 seats.
