These new vulnerabilities can be dangerous for ChromeOS users as attackers can exploit them by sending a specially crafted request. Also, it can allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition on the targeted system, if they manage to exploit it successfully.
The government body has also provided the reason behind these vulnerabilities. The official post mentions, “These vulnerabilities exist in Google Chrome due to Inappropriate implementation in Extensions; Use after free in Indexed DB, Messaging, Sharing, Tablet Mode, Tab Groups and Bookmarks.
As a solution, CERT has asked its users to update the Chrome OS to its latest version. It is important to note that Google has already rolled out the Chrome OS update which addresses several bugs and issues with the operating system.
