Eubank shared a picture of himself holding a rose and wrote: ‘This morning I activated the rematch clause via my lawyers & sent to my promoters Wasserman. Happy Valentines Day Liam Smith.’

However, boxing fans questioned whether Eubank should face Smith again after he was sent crashing to the canvas twice in one round before being stopped one minute and nine seconds into the fourth round of the fight.

Nevertheless, Smith and Eubank will go toe-to-toe for a second time on June 17 at the AO Arena in Manchester.

The fight will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office, following Eubank’s decision to activate his rematch clause.

It’s now a must-win fight for the Brighton boxer, who was on a run of six conecutive victories prior to his devastating defeat to Smith.
