Chhattisgarh: People jump from upper floors as fire engulfs building in Korba

Massive fire broke out in the municipal complex in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district. Videos emerged of people trying to save their lives by jumping off the building.

The immense blaze is still one as thick black smoke covered the clear sky. News agencies reported that the fire is said to be under control now and the injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital.

“The fire has been controlled and we are working to douse it. 15 people were also rescued whereas 3 have been shifted to the hospital. Our team is also ensuring if more people are not stuck inside the building,” officials present at the fire accident site told news agency PTI.

According to India Today, an Indian Bank located in the commercial complex, along with several shops, were burned down in the blaze.
