Chelsea star Kai Havertz has shock interest from a Premier League rival as well as Real Madrid
REVEALED: Chelsea star Kai Havertz has shock transfer interest from a Premier League rival – as well as Real Madrid – but Blues will have to cut their asking price by £20m to secure a deal
- Real Madrid are seeking a replacement after Karim Benzema’s decision to leave
- Havertz has emerged as a possible option for the Spanish giants this summer
- A big Premier League club has been keeping an eye on the situation
Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on developments with Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
The German has been strongly linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks with the Spanish club needing to bolster their attack following the departure of star striker Karim Benzema.
Chelsea’s asking price of £70m has so far proved a stumbling block and now the The Telegraph claim that the Gunners have taken an interest.
While the midfield is Mikel Arteta’s priority this summer there is no doubt that Arsenal could benefit from bringing in a more direct and physical forward.
Havertz, who has two years remaining on his current deal, is said to have been considering his Chelsea future for a long-time.

A more direct forward is something that Mikel Arteta may be looking for this summer
The Blues endured a turbulent season following a vast overhaul of the squad, with Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard having all sat in the dugout during the campaign.
Havertz is claimed to be keen on a possible move to Real Madrid, while Chelsea are believed to view the 23-year-old as a saleable asset as new boss Mauricio Pochettino seeks to trim their bloated squad.
However, Chelsea will need to lower their asking price to somewhere in the region of £50m if a deal is to be secured with Los Blancos. It is highly unlikely that any other club will come in with a bigger offer than that either.
The London club need to sell players this summer and potential suitors are acutely aware of this.
Real were previously interested in signing Havertz when he was at Bayer Leverkusen.
Havertz instead completed a £76m move to Chelsea back in 2020, a then club record deal.
It is looking increasingly likely that Havertz has played his last game for the Blues
The Blues are facing a potentially sizeable loss should they agree to a sale.
The versatile attacker has scored 32 goals in 139 matches for Chelsea, including scoring the winner in the 2021 Champions League final.
Havertz has struggled during Chelsea’s difficult season, scoring just nine goals and providing one assist across 47 appearances in all competitions.
