A painful defeat in more ways than one, Cheikhou? Kouyate is hit in his private parts by Holland’s Frenkie de Jong during their World Cup clash – with Senegal midfielder having to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher and substituted as a result!
Cheikhou Kouyate could not really have hoped for a worse start to his World Cup as the Senegal star was forced off the pitch after a freak incident involving Frenkie de Jong.
As the two tussled for the ball, De Jong began to fall to ground and ended up trying to grab on to the worst area possible as he did.
Kouyate was clearly left in an enormous amount of pain and the stretcher had to come on to remove him from the game.

To make matters worse, Senegal went on to lose 2-0 to Holland with late goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen.
Coach Louis Van Gaal handed goalkeeper Andries Noppert his first international cap and he had little to do as the Dutch defence stifled the African champions, though he did pull off a superb save in the 73rd minute to parry a stinging shot from Idrissa Gueye.
Holland’s attack had been wasteful throughout until the 23-year-old Gakpo stole through the middle and beat Edouard Mendy to a cross from De Jong to send a glancing header into the net in the 84th minute.
Klaassen reacted quickest nine minutes into stoppage time to pounce on a rebound from a Memphis Depay shot and fire home to put the Dutch top of the group alongside Ecuador, whom they meet in their next game on Friday
