Check out Jr NTR’s mutton pulao and tomato chutney recipes on his birthday – Times of India
A few years ago, fans got a glimpse of this when he was hosting Bigg Boss Telugu. The actor once entered the house, interacted with the contestants, and made them some delicious tomato chutney and mutton pulao from scratch. While some remember the interaction for his banter with the housemates, many remember seeing Jr NTR’s cooking skills and wanting to try out his recipes. Given that the actor was explaining his recipe while talking to the contestants, he might have missed out on measurements for some of the ingredients. But here’s the bare bones of it:
Tomato chutney
Recipe
Tomatoes – 6
Onions – 2
Chillies – 10
Black mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Garlic cloves
Salt
Oil
Curry leaves
Procedure
Chop onions roughly into chunks. Make a cross on the back of the tomatoes with a knife. Heat some oil, add black mustard and cumin seeds till they spatter. Now add the garlic and chillies, covering the pan till they soften. Add the onions, cover again to soften. Repeat the same with the tomatoes, stirring them occasionally till, they lose the rawness. Once they’re softened, cool down the mixture, add some salt and blend it without adding any water. Transfer onto a serving bowl and add tadka with oil, fried curry leaves and black mustard seeds.

Procedure
Wash the mutton thoroughly. Add some ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, garam masala, salt, pepper, coriander powder, oil, curd to the meat and mix them well together. Taste the mixture to ensure everything is to your liking. Add it in a cooker and let it cook for 2 whistles on a high flame and 2 on a low flame.
For the pulao soak some basmati rice for a few minutes. Add oil in a large vessel. Add in cinnamon, peppercorn, caraway, clove, cardamom, and sliced onions. Stir fry them till the onions are brown. Add mint to taste, tomatoes and sliced green chillies. Fry till the tomatoes soften. Add the mixture to the cooked mutton. Drain the rice. Cover the pan with a lid till the water evaporates. Serve with raita.
