Chanel Fetes its East Hampton “Ephemeral Boutique” With a Dinner and Performance by Gracie Abrams
“I have a great view, you all look beautiful,” Gracie Abrams said to her well-dressed audience—those dinner party guests that Chanel had assembled at the East Hampton’s The Baker House 1650. The reason for the gathering? To fete Chanel’s Ephemeral Boutique located in the town and open now through September 5. Abrams herself looked stunning, clad in a Chanel sequin embellished bandeau top and eyelet velvet pants.
In the crowd were Lola Tung and Jenny Han, who was fresh off the plane from North Carolina, where summer’s biggest TV show, The Summer I Turned Pretty, season 2, is currently in production. Also in attendance was Sydney Chandler, who was ready to celebrate for a slew of reasons, one of which being that it was just announced her film Don’t Worry Darling will be going to Venice at the end of the summer. Abrams, who will soon take the stage at Lollapalooza, has the song on everyone’s TikTok feed, “21”, which she performed along with three others.
Earlier in the night, guests attended a small cocktail in the boutique on 26 Newtown Lane, where the store resembled what one would dream up as their perfect Parisian fantasy. Gin cocktails with fresh lemon and muddled basil and spicy tuna tartar were passed around as guests cooled down and explored the 2,500-square-foot store. As the sun set and the temperature dropped a few degrees, guests made their way to The Baker House, which had transformed its grounds into a long candle-lit path to a magical tent with vines woven around its poles. Beneath, long tables were filled with bouquets of white flowers.
As guests such as Amy Cass Bird, Caroline Sieber, Christie Tyler, Colby Mugrabi, Deondrick Hinton, Derek Blasberg, Reign Judge, Gucci Westman, Isolde Brielmaier, Kelly Burns, Lizzie Tisch, Nathalie Love, Natalie Massenet, Rachelle Hruska McPherson, Sean McPherson, Selby Drummond, and Tabitha Simmons took their seats, tomato and peach salads were served along with whole lobsters. As the night wound down and the crowd listened to Abrams’s effortlessly ethereal performance over blueberry cobblers, two things were made certain. First that Chanel’s arrival in the Hamptons was a long time coming. And, second, Abrams is sure to have added quite a few new fashionable fans to her list.
