The Andrew Balding-trained 2,000 Guineas winner and St James’s Palace Stakes runner-up finished a never-threatening seventh in the hands of Oisin Murphy, who was standing in for the suspended Frankie Dettori, behind Fabrice Chappet-trained Good Guess.
Half of the 12-strong Prix Jean Prat line-up were from Britain or Ireland with Karl Burke-trained Indestructible faring best in fourth.
Murphy had enjoyed better fortune in the US on Saturday evening when winning the Belmont Park Oaks Invitational on Fozzy Stack-trained Aspen Grove as well as finishing second on Balding-trained Dante Stakes winner The Foxes in the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes.

Aspen Grove, who Stack said had been in season when she ran disappointingly in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, is to remain in America with the trainer adding: ‘Either the Del Mar Oaks or the Saratoga Oaks will be her next run.’
Aidan O’Brien-trained Paddington, who won the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown on Saturday own his first start at a mile and a quarter, is likely to revert to a mile and run next in Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on August 2.
In contrast, the John and Thady Gosden-trained Eclipse Stakes runner-up Emily Upjohn is likely to go up in trip with John Gosden saying the three races for his filly this season are the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 29 followed by the Yorkshire Oaks and the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe.
