CeeDee Lamb quiets haters with clutch fourth-quarter drive on Monday Night Football

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a rough first half but he more than made up for it with an epic drive in the fourth quarter on Monday Night Football.

Dallas has been looking for a true WR1 in 2022 after trading Amari Cooper to the Browns.

It sure feels like they may have found him on Monday Night Football.

CeeDee Lamb had a wild ride against the Giants. He was the goat in the first half after a bad drop. He turned into the G.O.A.T. in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys had just tied the game with an Ezekiel Elliot touchdown run. They had a chance to take the lead on their next drive. Lamb essentially dragged them there.

He caught a 17-yard pass from Cooper Rush to get Dallas across midfield. Then he made a hugely clutch catch to convert fourth-and-four. Rush found him again for 26 yards a few plays later to bring the Cowboys to the one-yard line. Lamb then finished things off with a flourish, catching a touchdown one-handed.

It was the perfect redemption drive for a wide receiver who Cowboys fans hope can become their go-to guy.

NFL Twitter rushes to apologize for doubting CeeDee Lamb

Lamb led all receivers with eight catches for 87 yards and one touchdown. His fourth-quarter performance is definitely going to be the big takeaway from the game for Dallas. If he plays like that consistently, Cowboys fans will be able to say “Amari Cooper who?”

The problem for Lamb has been consistency. It’ll take some more similar performances for him to truly take on the starring role in the offense. He’s now on the path.

Cooper Rush also made his case stepping in to start for the injured Dak Prescott for the second week. He was 21-of-31 for 215 yards and a touchdown.
