Carlos Rodon ‘agrees a six-year contract worth $162m’ with the Yankees… as New York delivers yet another massive blow to the San Francisco Giants
Carlos Rodon has reportedly reached an agreement with the New York Yankees on a six-year contract worth $162 million.
After a one-year stint with the San Francisco Giants, Rodon is set to be heading to the Bronx for the 2023 season and beyond, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman.
The Yankees have been linked to the starting pitcher for a while, dating back to last season’s trade deadline in July.

New York reportedly opened talks with the star left-handed pitcher earlier this week and were expected to swiftly submit an offer, which now appears to have been accepted.
Last season with the Giants, Rondon posted a 2.88 ERA with 237 strikeouts over 178 innings, while leading the league among qualifiers with 12 strikeouts per nine innings and a 2.25 FIP.
The Yankees were not the only team to have registered significant interest in Rodon as the St. Louis Cardinals and Rodon’s former team Giants said to have been keen on him too.

The Rangers, Orioles, Twins and others also checked in on the player throughout free agency, according to reports, though the extent of their interest wasn’t known.
However, Brian Cashman and Co. appear to have won the battle with their second win over the Giants during this offseason.
The Yankees also emerged victorious from the battle with the Giants to retain AL MVP Aaron Judge.
Aaron Judge is set to stay at the Yankees after agreeing a nine-year, $360million deal
Judge had a blockbuster 2022 with the Yankees, hitting an American League record of 62 home runs and eclipsing the long-standing record held by Roger Maris.
But as his terms expired, Judge took time to consider his future and the San Francisco Giants were hopeful of tempting Judge back to California, where he grew up.
But they had their hopes dashed when the slugger agreed a nine-year, $360million deal last week.
