Washington Capitals defenceman Martin Fehervary exited Friday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with an upper-body injury after taking an elbow to the head from forward Brock McGinn.
McGinn hit Fehervary just after he passed the puck from the point midway through the second period.
Fehervary immediately fell to the ice and was helped to the locker room. There was no penalty on the play.
Last month, Fehervary also was involved in an incident with Penguins star Sidney Crosby.
Crosby threw Fehervary head-first into the boards with his team trailing 5-1.
Crosby did not face any supplementary discipline for the play.
