Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser doesn’t feel any more pain in his injured hand that has kept him out of the lineup for the past six games.
Boeser told reporters Monday it’s now just a matter of the scar healing up and getting the green light from doctors before he can return to the lineup.
“Obviously, you wish you could just get some healing magic or something and just it heal overnight but it’s not that way,” Boeser said. “It’s kind of a waiting game. I’m more than ready to get back into the lineup … I’m just waiting to get the clear.”
The 25-year-old Boeser registered four assists in six games this season before a scar from his hand surgery in September re-opened.
Vancouver holds a 3-6-3 record and is sixth in the Pacific Division.
“It’s very frustrating these days where it’s hard to keep a positive attitude coming to the rink and getting the most out of your day, every day,” said Boeser, who has scored 20-plus goals in four of the previous five seasons. “But that’s what I’ve been trying to do. The boys have been working hard to get this ship pointed in the right direction and I want to be a part of that.
“It’s definitely frustrating but whenever they give me the green light, I’m really excited to get back in the lineup.”
The Canucks begin a five-game road trip Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators.
