According to Fox Sports, the 28-year-old spoke was speaking with Canberra staff after being taken back to the sheds. The medicos confirmed he suffered a seizure and that he would be taken to hospital for further tests.
The Kiwi star made a tackle and appeared to walk back into the defensive line before collapsing, twitching and apparently unconscious.
Players from both sides could be seen moving away from the scene to grant him privacy and allow the medical staff to swiftly intervene.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart temporarily left the coaches box to walk to the sideline and speak with Canberra’s medicos. Speaking to Fox League after the final whistle, Stuart added the cause of the seizure had yet to be established.
‘It was awful,’ he said.
‘I just spoke to the doctor and he said he had a seizure and he doesn’t know why.
‘They’re at a bit of a loss at the moment as to why it occurred and he’s off to hospital now and our prayers and thoughts are with him.’
Raiders veteran Josh Papali’i added: ‘My heart goes out to Corey, I really hope he’s okay and doing well.’
