Burnley have completed the signing of Wout Weghorst from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg
Weghorst has been a regular scorer throughout his career, scoring 70 goals in 144 games during his three-and-a-half seasons at Wolfsburg.
Before that, Weghorst scored 45 times in 86 games for AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie.
Weghorst began his career at Dutch second tier FC Emmen before earning his first move to Holland’s top division when he joined Heracles in 2014.
He has been in talks with the Premier League strugglers for the last two weeks but advances were made in the last few days, leading to the striker missing training with his Bundesliga club on Friday.

He has a long held dream to move to the Premier League and could now emerge as a key player to drag Burnley away from the bottom of the Premier League.
Burnley were also hoping to bring in Croatia winger Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb before Monday’s deadline but saw that move collapse after agreeing a deal with his club when the player had a change of heart and opted to stay put.
They also remain in the hunt for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan but face late competition as the Wales international holds out for a higher profile club.
Weghorst joins the club at a time where they find themselves bottom of the Premier League table.
Burnley have taken just 12 points in 18 games but have as many as four games in hand over 17th placed Norwich – who are just four points above them in the battle to avoid the drop.
