The Bulgarian national football team bus has crashed in Georgia ahead of their Nations League game on Sunday.
The Bulgarian Football Union, BFU, confirmed that the team bus had suffered a ‘serious road accident’ after arriving in Tbilisi, with midfielder Todor Nedelev being taken to a local hospital.
In their statement, the BFU assured that Nedelev was the only person injured in the crash and that the rest of the team and staff ‘are doing well’.

The BFU confirmed: ‘The national team suffered a serious road accident after arriving in Tbilisi. On the way to the team’s hotel, the driver of the first of the two buses carrying our team lost control of the vehicle.
‘After the collision, midfielder Todor Nedelev was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently undergoing extensive clinical examinations. All other members of the team and staff of the Bulgarian national team are doing well.’
Georgi Ivanov’s side travelled to Tbilisi ahead of their Nations League C Group 4 clash with Georgia – with the hosts five points clear at the top of the group.

Nedelev, 29, currently plays for Bulgarian top flight side Botev Plovdiv and has made 44 appearances for his national side.
In October last year, the midfielder crushed Northern Ireland’s hopes at a place in this year’s World Cup after scoring an impressive second-half brace for his national side.
Bulgaria have had an underwhelming start to their Nations League group after losing 5-2 at home to upcoming opponents Georgia, before being held to a 1-1 draw with minnows Gibraltar.
Nedelev (L) scored the both goals in his national side’s 2-1 win over Northern Ireland last year
