BTS’ Jungkook tests COVID positive; video of him calling himself the ‘super antibody’ goes viral – Times of India

Just days before Grammys 2022, BTS’s Jungkook has tested COVID positive. Jeon Jung-kook, aka Jungkook, reportedly experienced ‘slight discomfort in his throat’. Last week, another member of BTS, J-hope, had tested positive for coronavirus infection.

BTS group, the popular Korean band, is scheduled to perform at the Grammys 2022 ceremony on April 3.

The official statement reads: “Hello. This is Big Hit Music. We would like to provide you with some information on BTS member Jung Kook being diagnosed with Covid-19. Jung Kook was tested negative on a PCR test in Korea, and he departed for the United States on Sunday, March 27 (KST) in preparation for the Grammy Awards performance. After arriving in Las Vegas, he felt a slight discomfort in his throat and promptly took a rapid PCR test (Covid-19 molecular PCR test) and a standard PCR test (Covid-19 quantitative PCR test) on the afternoon of Sunday, March 27 (PT).”

Jungkook, the youngest member of band, had earlier bragged about having ‘super antibodies’. “I think I am the Super Antibody…There are some people who don’t get the disease…I think I am the super antibody considering that I haven’t been confirmed yet,” he had said then.

Fans and followers have wished for Jungkook’s speedy recovery as they are looking forward to the band’s performance at the award ceremony night.

As per reports, Jungkook’s participation in the ‘later schedule in the United States will be determined by the local regulations on Covid-19’ and the agency is in ‘discussion with the awards organizer’.

BTS or the Bangtan boys is one of the most followed K-Pop music worldwide. In 2021, BTS members Suga, RM and Jin had tested COVID positive. In January 2022, V, another member of the group, had tested positive for the viral attack.
