Browns-Bills game could be impacted by major snow storm

It looks as if mother nature is going to make her presence felt for Sunday’s game in Buffalo between the Bills and Cleveland Browns.

Buffalo is expected to be hit with a massive snowstorm this weekend that could dump as much as one to two feet of snow on the area.

The storm is expected to begin on Thursday and continue through Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s game in Buffalo is currently scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

The potential for that much snow during that time period creates a lot of problems.

For starters, that could impact the Browns’ ability to safely make the trip to Buffalo. And assuming they can, there could be issues with fans (and stadium personnel) safely making their way to the game.

That could — emphasis on could — lead to a delay or rescheduling of the game if things get too extreme. At the very least it is something that the NFL will have to monitor as the week goes on.

Assuming the Browns, fans and stadium personnel are able to get to the game and the game goes on as scheduled, playing in a blizzard (or blizzard like conditions) will obviously have an impact on the game itself. The Bills are clearly the superior team, but extreme weather conditions can be the great equalizer on the field and significantly limit a skilled team.

Either way, it is something to keep an eye on.

Buffalo is entering the game on a two-game losing streak that has dropped it to third place in the AFC East. The Browns are 3-6 and coming off of an ugly loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Going from playing in Miami one week to a blizzard in Buffalo could have the Browns playing on opposite ends of the weather spectrum.
