Brooklyn Nets ‘trade Jae Crowder to the Milwaukee Bucks for FIVE second-round picks’
Brooklyn Nets ‘trade Jae Crowder to the Milwaukee Bucks for FIVE second-round picks’ just 48 hours after acquiring the forward from the Phoenix Suns as part of the package for Kevin Durant
The Brooklyn Nets are trading Jae Crowder to the Milwaukee Bucks for five second-round picks, according to a report.
Crowder’s stay in Brooklyn has been incredibly brief as the 32-year-old is already heading to Milwaukee, just 48 hours after landing with the Nets.
The Nets are flipping the forward to the Bucks after acquiring him from the Phoenix Suns as part of the Kevin Durant package, according to Shams Charania.
In exchange, Brooklyn is incredibly receiving five second-round picks, which is a lot for a 32-year-old forward who hasn’t played all season.
The Indiana Pacers are also said to be acquiring Bucks’ Jordan Nwora and two second-rounders as part of the three-way deal with Brooklyn and Milwaukee.

The last time Crowder took to the floor was during the 2022 postseason when he struggled as the Suns fell to the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the playoffs.
He was reportedly informed by the Suns over the summer that he may start to lose his starting job this season and he asked not to come to training camp and requested a trade.
The veteran ended up on the team’s inactive list and did not play for the Suns this year as the franchise looked for a trade partner.
Crowder has suited up for the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat and the Suns during his 10 years in the NBA.
He has played his last two seasons in Phoenix, where he has been the starter for 109 of his 127 regular-season games.
Crowder is set to be a free agent this summer and could leave Milwaukee for nothing in free agency at the end of the season, making it feel like a risky gamble for the Bucks.
However, it is an ‘all-in’ move from the Bucks who are are on the hunt for the championship title this year.
Crowder joins the second-place Bucks team as they look to return to the NBA Finals after winning the championship two seasons ago.
The Bucks were said to be pursuing a trade for Crowder in December with the Suns reportedly engaging in three-team talks that would have sent Crowder to Milwaukee, four Bucks second-round draft picks along with players to Houston, and Eric Gordon and/or Kenyon Martin Jr. to Phoenix but a deal fell through.
The reported trade comes just hours before the league’s 3pm deadline on Thursday.
The news of Crowder’s trade comes after a busy week for the Nets have already dealt away its top stars, Kyrie Irving and Durant.
Durant and T.J. Warren were dealt to the Suns in a blockbuster trade with Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Crowder and four first-round picks headed to Brooklyn in exchange for the duo.
The picks, in 2023, ’25, ’27 and ’29 are all unprotected. Further, a pick swap will occur between the two franchises.
The news of Durant’s trade broke moments after his former teammate, Irving, starred in his debut for Dallas.
Irving sealed a trade to the Mavericks Sunday after handing in a request to the Brooklyn Nets last Friday.
The Clippers, Lakers and Phoenix Suns were said to be interested but the Mavs beat out the competition, trading away Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and a 2029 first-round pick for the NBA champion.
