Brock Collection Fans, Listen Up! Reformation and Laura Vassar Just Created the Chicest Summer Capsule
Renowned for her designs that simultaneously evoke a bygone-bohemia and modern-day edge, Laura Vassar just collaborated with Reformation on a summer capsule collection dedicated to elegant, everyday essentials. A fashion darling, Vassar was the co-founder of Brock Collection, which won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award back in 2016. Fast forward to today, Vassar is bringing the same ethereal, romantic approach to The Collection by Reformation, an 18-piece capsule that officially launches today at 10am EST, but is available to shop now exclusively for Vogue readers.

“Brock Collection is a brand that I’ve personally always looked at. It’s just so incredible, feminine, and beautiful,” Reformation’s CEO, Hali Borenstein, tells Vogue. “When we were introduced to Laura, it just felt like a real natural connection and we got really excited about the idea of it together.” The Collection strikes the perfect balance between Reformation’s approachability with Vassar’s dreamy aesthetic. “Taking the Reformation sensibility and introducing a more luxury product with them was really, really fun,” says Vassar.
Ranging from sleek separates and daytime dresses to cocktail and evening attire, The Collection is designed to exemplify the best of wardrobe essentials. “The result is just a really balanced collection of timeless pieces,” Vassar elaborates. “I think it’s hard to get simple things right; we wanted the right amount of simple—a bit of fabric, a punch of color, a bit of print, a little sexiness.”

The Collection’s ideal woman is also all about balance. “Let’s offer our woman this small collection of pieces that will carry her through her day-to-day life, from parenting to mothering to working to having things that she attends in the evening,” says Vassar.
True to the Reformation ethos, the 18-piece capsule reflects the brand’s stake in sustainability. “All of the same really high standards we set for ourselves are consistent in this collection,” says Borenstein. The Collection includes pieces crafted in a luxurious yet less-environmentally taxing linen, deadstock textiles, and a Bluesign-certified silk.

To coincide with the launch on Reformation, The Collection will also be able to shop exclusively at Moda Operandi on Thursday, June 15th at 11am EST. “Lauren’s [Santo Domingo] taste level is just so exceptional–we just thought that this was a really interesting way to bring this to market with that customer group,” says Borenstein on the decision to partner with Moda. Vassar chimes in, “You can absolutely see Lauren wearing all of these pieces, like when she’s out East in The Hamptons in one of the white linen dresses or to a cocktail in this little black satin cocktail number.”
As for Santo Domingo, Vassar has long been a close friend of the site. “Laura Vassar was one of Moda’s first studio stylists, and we were the first to launch the Brock Collection back in 2014. I, and so many of our clients, have been waiting to see what Laura would do next, so we’re thrilled to be launching The Collection on Moda,” she says. “So many of our customers are still wearing their Brock Collection pieces from seasons past, and we get frequent queries to our personal shoppers about when they’ll be able to shop Laura’s pieces again. The Collection provides Moda with the opportunity to appeal to the next generation of luxury clients who look to Reformation for occasion dressing at a more attainable price point.”
