British High Commissioner Enjoys Mumbai’s Sandwich And Chilli Ice Cream, Shares Pic

The true essence of Mumbai’s food culture is defined by its street food. The metropolis is famous for its roadside food stalls that serve a wide variety of lip-smacking snacks. Be it the classic vada pav, batata vada, dabeli or misal pav, these street food delicacies have fans not only in India but all around the world. Recently, British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis, too was seen trying Mumbai’s famous snacks from a roadside stall. Alex Ellis is a foodie at heart and often posts pictures of himself trying famous foods in different Indian cities.

Mr Ellis took to Twitter to share two pictures of himself trying the snacks. In the photo, we can see him enjoying Mumbai’s famous sandwich and chilli ice cream. “Eating like a #Mumbaikar today – trying the Mumbai sandwich and chilli ice cream. #BombaySandwich,” read the caption of the post. Not just that, he also added “Come eat” in Marathi to his caption. Take a look at his tweet below:

Since being uploaded, the post has amassed over 128.4K views, 2.3K likes and several comments. Internet users were impressed with Ellis’s willingness to try out different kinds of food in Indian cuisine. Several Twitter users also suggested other dishes that he could try. Well, this is not the first time that the British High Commissioner tried delicious Indian food. Earlier in September, he was seen relishing an Onam Sadhya meal on a giant banana leaf in Kerala House in New Delhi. “I had a wonderful Onam Sadhya at the Kerala House.
