Brighton are weighing up a move for £8.5million-rated Toulouse winger Zakaria Aboukhlal.
The 23-year-old is set to leave the French club this summer after an impressive season in Ligue 1 in which he scored 10 goals – 15 in all competitions – and made five assists. Aboukhlal was also on target for Morocco against Belgium in the World Cup in November.
Brighton are tracking the former PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar player but could face competition from Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen who are both understood to want him.
Aboukhlal was born in Holland and represented the Dutch to Under-20 level, but decided to play for Morocco having also turned down Libya.
Brighton have already signed Watford forward Joao Pedro in a club record £20m deal and veteran midfielder James Milner from Liverpool on a free transfer.
However, Alexis Mac Allister has joined Liverpool for £35m and Chelsea are chasing Moises Caicedo, while Arsenal could move for Kaoru Mitoma.
