Bread Pakoda Without Bread? Chef Kunal Kapur Gives A Twist To A Traditional Recipe
Hot and crispy bread pakodas have always been the favourite desi snack for many of us. Enjoy it on the roadside with a cup of tea while it rains, or prepare them at home and enjoy them with your loved ones, bread pakodas satisfy our belly and soul every time. The fried bread coated with besan offers a crunch while the spicy mashed potatoes filling makes our mouths water. The classic snack enjoys massive popularity and its recipe is not a secret either. But today we have got the recipe for a bread pakoda that doesn’t have bread. Yes, you heard it right! Chef Kunal Kapur, in his Instagram Reel, shared the recipe of bread pakoda without bread, making the snack a tad different and gluten-free.

To begin making the bread pakoda, arrange the ingredients below.
Besan (gram flour) – 1 cups
Cumin – 1 tsp
Chopped onions – ¼ cup
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Sliced paneer
Chopped green chilli – 1 tsp
Chopped coriander – handful
Chopped ginger – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Kasoori methi powder – 2 tsp
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
Curd – ½ cup
Baking soda or ENO
Water – approx. 1 ½ cup
Oil
Salt
Once all the ingredients are on the kitchen slab, follow the steps below.
Step – 1 Take besan in a bowl and add cumin, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala, chopped green chilli, kasoori methi leaves, and salt to taste. Also add chopped coriander, chaat masala, and onion.
Step – 2 Add curd and water into the bowl and mix everything well. Then add baking soda or ENO to the mixture.
Step – 3 Put a sandwich maker on the flame and drizzle some oil on it.
Step – 4 Pour the mixture onto the sandwich maker and then place thin slices of paneer on it. Make sure to cover the paneer with the mixture before closing the sandwich maker.
Step – 5 Cook till the pakoda turns golden brown and crispy.
Step – 6 Plate the breadless bread pakoda with some tomato sauce and green chilli on the side. You can garnish the pakodas with some fresh coriander leaves.
