‘Brahmastra’ fever takes over Bengal, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Pushpa’ left behind – Times of India
The advance bookings for the film have sprung quite a surprise and just like the rest of the country, in West Bengal also, the fan frenzy is indeed making the distributers excited about the film’s business and why not! A lot depends on the Ayan Mukherji-directed film. The box office numbers can either open new doors for Hindi Cinema or the road to come back will get tougher. However, going by the huge opening day screen count ‘Brahmastra’ has received across Bengal it surely promises something big in box office numbers. The screen count has also surpassed the numbers even ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ managed to get. As per industry sources, the final show count for ‘Brahmastra’ all over Bengal is 560 while Yash-starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ reportedly had 552 opening shows in Bengal. Even Ranbir Kapoor’s film has left behind ‘RRR’ in this regard as well. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ reportedly had 547 opening shows in Bengal. Meanwhile, last year the opening screen count for ‘Pushpa’ in Bengal was 540.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, ‘Brahmastra’ also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in the lead. The film has been released in the theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Made on a huge budget of almost 450 crores, ‘Brahmastra’ promises a fresh genre for the Hindi film industry with some never-seen-before visual effects in store.
