Boyband Busted reunite for 20th anniversary UK tour

Twenty years after they first hit the top of the charts, Busted have announced they will be going on a 20th Anniversary & Greatest Hits Tour.

Hits such as Year 3000 and Crashed The Wedding helped the band from Southend-on-Sea sell more than five million records and win two Brit awards for British Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Act before their split in 2004.

Now in their late 30s, Matt Willis, 39, Charlie Simpson, 37, and James Bourne, 39, and are getting back together as they mark 20 years since they had a number one with You Said No.

Busted will perform at 15 different venues all over the UK as they relive their greatest hits from the early 2000s.

Speaking to The Sun, Willis added, “Now it feels like it’s meant to feel. It’s like the very beginning all over again. Right now it feels like it’s barely even begun.”

The band had been teasing fans in recent weeks on their social media accounts, building expectations of a reunion after a cryptic post on Instagram, captioned: ’23/03/23 #Busted20′.

The post features a Busted VHS cassette being put into an old VCR and TV, on which the band’s logo then appears.

Along with the tour, a new album is to be released, consisting of remakes of some of their most popular hits and featuring artists such as McFly, with who they previously collaborated.

The group previously reformed for an arena tour in the UK and Ireland in 2016.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on 31 March.
