Olympic boxing medallist Harry Garside has been arrested over domestic violence allegations on his return to Australia from filming reality TV series I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
Garside was taken into custody at Sydney International Airport after police launched an investigation into reports of an incident involving a 32-year-old woman, a NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP on Tuesday.
‘He has been taken to Mascot Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries,’ the spokeswoman said.
The champion men’s lightweight boxer won bronze for Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and has won seven Australian national boxing championships.
Garside won the gold medal in the men’s 52kg boxing final at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He has now been arrested over domestic violence allegations

Garside recently appeared on the ninth season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here where he was runner-up to former champion netballer Liz Ellis.
The finale aired on Sunday night.
News Corp has reported that Garside was met by police detectives upon his arrival at Sydney Airport on Monday after his flight from Johannesburg.
Garside was travelling with his father, Shaun, who was allowed to continue through customs to collect his bags.
Garside, on the other hand, was escorted by two NSW Police detectives and two Australian Federal Police officers to a waiting car.
The 25-year-old athlete was then taken to a nearby police station, where he was interviewed over an alleged incident that took place in March with his ex-girlfriend, Ash Ruscoe.
Ruscoe, a wellness instructor and personal trainer, competed on another Ten reality show, The Amazing Race Australia with former partner Sidney Pierucci.
The alleged altercation took place in Ruscoe’s Bondi apartment complex and required police intervention.

While Garside has kept his head down and maintained a low profile since the alleged incident, he recently shared a picture of himself and his father on Instagram, taken in business class on a Qantas flight.
He captioned the post: ‘Had to upgrade my best mate to business with me. What an experience it has been. Something I will truly never forget, friendships that will last a lifetime.’
Garside won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo in the men’s lightweight event.
He competed on I’m A Celebrity for his chosen charity, Reach youth organisation.
During his time in South Africa, he told the Daily Telegraph that he would use the time in the jungle to figure out what he would do with his career in the future.
At the time, Garside said he was ‘single’ after splitting from Ruscoe.
