Bournemouth finally win away at Tottenham on their SIXTH attempt
THE NOTEBOOK: Bournemouth finally win away at Tottenham on their SIXTH attempt, Davinson Sanchez’s horror show lasts just 23 minutes – and match-winner Dango Ouattara writes his name into Cherries legend
Tottenham’s top four hopes landed another major blow on Saturday, as Dango Ouattara netted a stunning 95th minute winner to earn relegation-threatened Bournemouth a vital 3-2 win over Spurs.
Son Heung-min fired the hosts ahead on the 14th minute before Matias Vina levelled the scoreboard just before the break, teeing up an enthralling second half.
Dominic Solanke took his chance in the 51st minute to fire Bournemouth ahead, capitalising on some questionable defending from the home side.
Arnaut Danjuma thought he had earned Tottenham at least a point with his 88th minute equaliser late on, but Ouattara wrote his name into Bournemouth legend shortly after, netting a stoppage time winner to claim a historic victory and climb the visitors up to 14th in the table.

Klinsmann watches on as Son’s resurgence continues
South Korea manager and Spurs legend Jurgen Klinsmann was in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a special half-time guest, and the German watched on as Son Heung-min continued his mini renaissance with the opening goal in the 14th minute.
The South Korean tapped home for his second goal in two league games, having only scored three in his last 22 appearances. At half-time the German spoke admirably about his captain, calling him a ‘special player’.
Spurs fail to capitalise on rivals’ mishaps
With top four rivals Newcastle dropping points after a crushing 3-0 away defeat at Aston Villa in the early kick-off, Cristian Stellini’s men had the opportunity to go level on points with their northern rivals, as well as leapfrog Manchester United with a win.
It appeared to be heading that way after Son tucked away a 14th minute opener, but goals from Matias Vina, Dominic Solanke and a 95th minute winner from substitute Dango Ouattara ensured Spurs lost ground on the top four, remaining on 53 points with games against the two teams directly above them next, with Villa now only three points behind.

Cherries end their White Hart Lane hoodoo
In their five previous visits to north London, Bournemouth have come away empty handed on all five occasions, conceding 16 goals and only scoring two in reply.
But at the sixth attempt, Gary O’Neil’s men were able to claim a historic win. Despite going behind early on, O’Neil’s side fought hard and were rewarded with goals either side of the half-time interval from Vina and Solanke with Ouattara’s dramatic injury-time winner securing only their second Premier League win against Spurs, and their first away from home.
Sanchez suffers 23 minutes of hell
When Clement Lenglet was forced off through injury in the 35th minute, no one could envision the nightmare that his replacement Davinson Sanchez would endure, not even the man himself.
Whilst on the pitch, both of Bournemouth’s goals came down Spurs’ right-hand side, with Sanchez occupying the right side of the home side’s back three. Come the 58th minute, the Colombian’s brief stint on the pitch was over, his substitution met with jeers from the home crowd.

Ouattara crowns himself a hero
What do you get when you score an injury-time winner against a side fighting for Champions League place? Absolute carnage.
Dango Ouattara was the architect of such chaos from the away dugout and supporters as the Burkinabe international calmly finished into the bottom right corner in the 95th minute to boost the Cherries’ survival hopes.
Some sides around them also picked up vital victories, but Gary O’Neil can breathe a sigh of relief, with his team six points clear of the bottom three.
