Bosco Martis speaks about choreographing Kartik Aaryan’s Gujju Pataka | Hindi Movie News – Times of India
The number Gujju Patakais out and Bosco is exhausted.“I wouldn’t lie to you, it wasn’t easy shooting Gujju Pataka. The entire song was done at outdoor locations of Mumbai in the sweltering heat. We created situations for four different kinds of weddings: Catholic, South Indian, Gujarati and Muslim. All in one song. So we can easily claim this is the most universal and secular wedding song in our cinema.”
Bosco is amused by the thought. Although, shooting the song was no laughing matter. “There were scores of set builders and scores of dancers, prop managers, co-ordinators… I say, each one of them is a dedicated artiste and hats off to all of them,” says Bosco.Bosco is most astonished by Kartik Aaryan’s journey from aspiring star to superstar. “I had worked with him in his debut film Pyaar Ka Punchnama and it was very evident even then that Kartik’s career was bound for glory. Now while choreographing him in the song Gujju Pataka I am happy to see he remains as dedicated and focused as he was at the beginning of his career.”
Bosco is all praise for Kartik’s dedication. “He follows instructions very carefully and then does the dance steps faithfully. He keeps doing the steps until both the choreographer and the dancer are satisfied. Today he is no longer the newcomer he was in Pyaar Ka Punchnama. But the hunger for perfection is still intact.”
The ace choreographer describes Gujju Pataka as Kartik’s most massy song to date. “He has quite a number of hit dance numbers. We did the title song of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 two years ago. But Gujju Pataka is that street-smart number which every A-lister wants. Kartik has it. He owns it.”
Bocso turned director last year with Rocket Gang where he got the opportunity to direct and choreograph some very talented kids. “It was a very satisfying experience. Directing kids is a wonderful challenge. I loved it. These kids were so bright. They are the future Hrithik Roshans and Kartik Aaryans. We must nurture new talent,” Bosco signs off.
