Boman Irani recalls the old days when the crew used to eat together as a unit, reveals it was a warm, bonding activity – Times of India

When was the last time you had a complete meal with your family, devoid of distractions such as the TV or phone? No need to scratch your head, it probably won’t be a recent occurrence. As the daily humdrum of life catches up on us, we even forget to eat in peace, quickly grabbing something on the go, while surfing through our phone. Our Bollywood brigade too, struggles with the same, it seems.

Recently on a leading chat show, Boman Irani recalled his Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. days where he was acting with late, veteran actor Sunil Dutt. During meal times, when everyone used to rush to their vanity vans to eat, Sunil Dutt used to call everyone back, saying that they will eat together as a family.

Boman added that even though this was a tough feat to achieve, they finally managed to get everyone together and it was such a warm, bonding moment. His Uunchai co-star Anupam Kher who accompanied him to the show along with Neena Gupta and Sarika added that these days, everyone is just busy on their phones.

The crew’s movie Uunchai has been performing steadily at the Box Office. The survival drama is about a group of friends in their 60s who decide to travel to the Everest Base Camp to honour their deceased friend. Apart from the above mentioned cast, the movie also stars Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra.
