Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios will start Tuesday’s series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies, the team announced.

The Blue Jays’ rotation has been in a state of flux for the past 10 days. Kevin Gausman took a comebacker off the ankle on July 2 and the struggling Yusei Kikuchi was placed on the 15-day injured list last week with a neck strain.
The Blue Jays had hoped Gausman might be able to return to the rotation on Tuesday, but it has been pushed back at least a day with no starter listed for Wednesday.
The Phillies are also short on pitchers — they’re going with a bullpen game for the second time in three days. Right-hander Andrew Bellatti will be the opener.
Berrios most recently pitched last Wednesday in Oakland, giving up one run on four hits in six innings. He notched a no-decision in a 2-1 win.
