Black Adam’s producers cut down violent scenes to get PG-13 rating for film. Read details
The producers, however, saw the commercial limitations of the certain R-rating that the film would have received. The decision, therefore, was to limit the aggression and violence in the film but keep it at a level matching the characters’ demands.
Smart Edits
The producers went ahead with a collaborative process with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) on reworking aggression and were happy with the result in the end.
They have reduced but not removed some of the supernatural sequences of flying bike chases and a truck bouncing over the body. Such exciting scenes become the identity of a film. However, they felt that showing a certain level of violence was necessary to retain the flavour of the character from the original comic.
Black Adam opens on October 21 in theatres across several regions worldwide.
