BJP leader Ram Kadam: Bail is everyone’s fundamental right as per law – Times of India

BJP leader Ram Kadam who has been very vocal in the Aryan Khan case posted on social media that superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son has the right to bail. When called to ask about the change in stance considering he has called out ‘Bollywood drug mafia’ in the past, Kadam defended his post and said, “Bail is everyone’s fundamental right as per law, whether the judge may grant bail or deny it. But I have also written that Maharashtra government is trying to protect the drug mafia and I did support the NCB officers who are doing a commendable job’’.

However, Kadam also maintained that he has made the comments in an individual capacity. “We are not against Aryan Khan or Shah Rukh Khan, we are against the basic drug issue. We have no enmity with Shah Rukh or Aryan; our fight is against the drug mafia. The court will decide if Aryan is guilty or not, and not only Aryan, whoever is facing charges as per the law have fundamental rights to get bail. I will again say that I am not against SRK or Aryan, but against the act. But we are not the appropriate authority; the court will decide if they were found with drugs and then, definitely, the law will take its own course,” he reiterated.

On Thursday, the NCB summoned Ananya Panday to the NCB office for her WhatsApp chats with Aryan. Before that, the officials also visited her home. Following this, they also went to SRK’s Bandra residence Mannat to collect some papers. A while later Ananya was spotted arriving at the NCB office; she was followed there by her actor-father Chunky Panday. Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were denied bail by the NDPS court on Wednesday, following which they have filed a bail plea with the Bombay High Court.
