BJP has uprooted casteism: Amit Shah in SP bastion Mainpuri
Shah on Tuesday addressed gatherings in Auraiya and Mainpuri and held roadshows in Kanpur, which will vote on February 20 in the third phase.
Mainpuri is SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s parliamentary constituency, from where he had won five times. Yadavs, SP’s most loyal voter base, form the biggest voting bloc in the district. Currently, three out of four assembly constituencies in the district are held by the SP, with chief Akhilesh Yadav also contesting from Karhal there.
“When Akhilesh babu’s Samajwadi Party ran the government, only one caste was favoured, when behen ji came to power, another caste was given preference, but when Modi ji came, there has been sabka saath, sabka vikaas. We have been successful in uprooting caste from the state,” Shah said. “I have come to ask the people of Mainpuri to make the BJP win from all seats, just once, and we will show how vikaas is done,” Shah said.
He highlighted the free ration being given by the central and state governments in the state. Shah also focused more on the promises made by BJP for girls and women, and for farmers. He highlighted BJP’s promise to give Scooty to every class 12 pass girl and free cylinders on Holi and Diwali to Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries.
He said the BJP government will work towards doubling per capita income and build industrial parks along expressways that will help attract ’10 lakh crore worth of investment in the state and create jobs for youth.
